Under 21 Hurling

The Under 21 hurlers commenced their campaign last Saturday with a 3-25 to 1-10 win over Roscrea in Toomevara in what was a good display from the lads. Billy Seymour (x2) and Andy Loughnane were the Kiladangan goal scorers with full team and scorers available on the club website. The result now ensures the lads progression to the Semi Final stages of the North Championship which will take place in a few weeks.

Senior Football

It was a busy last few days for our senior footballers who had two games in the last week.

They were unlucky to lose out to Eire Og Annacarty last Tuesday under lights in Puckane on a 2-8 to 1-13 scoreline in the County Relegation Semi Final with Billy Seymour and Joe Gallagher (from the penalty spot) the goal scorers.

This result led to the Relegation Final last Sunday morning against Drom Inch in Dolla where the lads had a hard fought 2-11 to 1-12 win to ensure senior football status for 2019 where an impressive first half display laid the foundations for the win. Billy Seymour continued his goal scoring form with two goals on the day with full team and scorers available on the club website. Well done to the lads on their win in what has been a competitive season on our first year playing football at the Senior grade. Many thanks to the management team of Gary Byrne, Charlie Hogan, Eddie Fogarty and Art Flannery.

Sympathy

The club wish to express sympathy to the friends and family of Liam Hogan (Straffan, Kildare and late of Gortmore, Ballywilliam), brother of Margaret Gallagher, and to friends and family of Dolores Egan (Old Bird Road Nenagh), sister of Mary Connors Ballyartella, who passed away recently. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Amanda Stapleton Benefit Night

On Saturday 3rd November, an exhibition game between Tipperary and Kilkenny will take place in Borrisoleigh at 6.00 pm where players such as Eoin Kelly, Lar Corbett, Henry Shefflin and Tommy Walsh will do battle once again as part of ‘The Legends Return’ game as a fundraising event for Amanda Stapleton (sister of former Tipperary hurler Paddy Stapleton) who was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. As well as the match there will be a 5km club colours fun run at 11am on the morning of the game. The club would urge as many as its supporters to attend both events in what is a very worthwhile cause.

Under 10

The club’s last juvenile blitz of the season took place last Sunday morning when our U10s and U9s travelled to Roscrea and played teams from Maynooth, Castleknock, Wolf Tones of Shannon and Roscrea. It was a great mornings hurling and a big thank you to our hosts for a very well organised blitz

Schools Hurling

Paul Seymour and Shane Gleeson lined out for Nenagh CBS in their Dean Ryan Semi Final defeat to Thurles CBS last Wednesday whilst DJ McGrath came on as a substitute whilst Davy O’Brien was also on the panel. Hard luck lads.

Best of luck to Johnny McGrath, Bryan McLoughney, Sean Hayes, Sean Creamer, Paul Seymour and John O’Meara who are all part of the Nenagh CBS Harty Cup panel that commence their campaign this Wednesday (17th October) against St Colman’s Fermoy in Cashel at 1.30 pm.
